Financial Aid

While our tuition rates are already affordable, you may qualify for financial aid to provide even more help with covering the cost of your education. Many of our students find that they qualify for enough aid to cover a significant amount of their tuition and fees.

The first step to getting aid - including grants, scholarships, loans and work study - is to submit a financial aid application.

How do I apply for aid?

The process starts by applying for a FSA ID and completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.studentaid.gov.

If you don’t own a computer, you can visit the Enrollment Services Center located in room 152 at Aiken Technical College to complete the application.

  1. If you have not already done so, apply for a FSA ID at fsaid.ed.gov. If you are a dependent student, have a parent apply for a FSA ID also.
  2. Once you (and, if applicable, a parent) have a FSA ID, go to www.studentaid.gov
  3. Click "Start a New FAFSA" or, if you filed a FAFSA the previous year, returning students will be given the option to pull some information from their prior FAFSA application, eliminating several steps and shortening the time it takes to complete the FAFSA.
  4. Transferring students who have already completed a FAFSA for the current year may click "Add or Delete a School Code" to have your FAFSA information sent to ATC. The Federal School Code for ATC is 010056.
  5. Follow the directions for each question on the FAFSA carefully.
  6. The Federal School Code for ATC is 010056.
  7. You (and a parent) should sign your FAFSA electronically using your FSA IDs.
  8. If you're unable to sign electronically, you can print a signature page, sign and then mail it to the federal processing address listed at the bottom of the form.

When do I apply for aid?

To make sure you complete your financial aid application on time, start early. The process isn't difficult, but it can be time consuming and you must meet deadlines.
