Technical Scholars Program Textbook FAQ

Do I have to complete my FAFSA every year if I’m a Technical Scholar?

Yes, to qualify for the Technical Scholars Program you must complete your FAFSA and the financial aid process.

If I am a Technical Scholars can I opt out of the “Ready For Success” program?

No, all sponsored Technical Scholars are asked to NOT opt out of the “Ready For Success” program.  If the scholar “opts out” of the program, their books will not be paid by the sponsoring company and they’ll have to pay for their books out of pocket without reimbursement.

The “Ready For Success” program does not cover my textbooks and materials for my EGT and WLD courses. How do I purchase my textbooks for these courses?

The EGT and WLD courses are exempt from the “Ready For Success” program. Therefore, any scholar enrolled in either of these courses will have to purchase their books from the ATC Bookstore and select Financial Aid as the payment method to ensure the Business Office bill your sponsoring company.

What should I do if I don’t have enough funds available on my financial aid account to purchase my textbooks or materials for EGT and WLD courses?

Contact the ATC Business Office, Donna Holland at (803) 508-7502 or Holland@atc.edu to request additional funds be added to your account.  Be sure to provide her with the exact total cost with taxes that you are requesting.

Do I have a deadline to purchase my textbooks for EGT and WLD courses?

Yes, all textbooks and required materials must be purchased by the financial aid funds deadline each semester. This applies even if your course begins in a later term. All items must still be purchased before the deadline. Any textbooks or required materials purchased after the financial aid deadline will not be covered by the sponsoring company. In that case, the scholar/student will be responsible for paying out of pocket, with no reimbursement available.
