Medical Assisting

Medical Assisting

Medical Assistants fill many roles—maintaining records, performing routine office lab procedures and screenings, and assisting with examinations and treatments. Graduates may find themselves working in clinics, emergency medical centers or physicians’ offices.

The Medical Assistant Certificate Program prepares the student to assist the physician in performing selected diagnostic tests as well as business office procedures.

The Medical Assisting program at Aiken Technical College has an average retention rate of 92.48% for the past five years, and there are a number of support services available to students so that they can successfully complete the program.

The Medical Assisting Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB).
