The Learning Commons is a place for Aiken Technical College students to study and receive academic support.
We offer library resources, tutoring in over 30 subject areas, academic and career coaching, the STEAM room, and Test Center.
Library Resources & Services: Library services at Aiken Tech include laptop and anatomical model rentals, access to our extensive research databases and vast collection of physical and online books, journals, and periodicals, as well as research and citation style assistance through our Public Services Librarian.
Tutoring: A teams of tutors are available to assist ATC students on-campus and online in over 30 different subject areas. Math and English tutors are always available during center hours.
Coaching: Our coaches work with students to help them succeed in a college environment. They help students manage their time, set SMART goals, master notetaking, and study effectively.
Career Services: We offer assistance through career exploration and program selection, professional resume building, and arranging mock interviews. There are also two job fairs held each academic year featuring over 60 employers across the region in various industries.
STEAM Room: Our STEAM Room is where art and technology meet at ATC. Students can step into virtual reality labs, bring scale-models to life with 3D printing, laser engrave messages or logos onto different objects, and create interactive media using our green screen.
Test Center: The Test Center offers proctored testing Monday-Friday to both ATC students and community members. Tests and exams that are administered include academic tests, Accuplacer and ACT WorkKeys as well as various third-party vendors including Pearson Vue and PSI.
Studying: The Learning Commons is an excellent place to complete assignments, collaborate with classmates, take HonorLock tests, or relax between classes. Students can reserve one of three study rooms.
