Paramedics provide the most advanced care of all EMS professionals and our hands-on training prepares graduates for the real-world challenges of this career.
A paramedic must be able to provide pre-hospital emergency care in a variety of situations, know how to triage, and be able to give continuing care while en route to an emergency medical facility.
Aiken Technical College’s associate degree program prepares students to make advanced level assessments, stabilize patients, and provide emergency transportation for sick and injured people.
Because of the high-pressure challenges faced by paramedics, our program puts emphasis on both the skills and the leadership abilities needed in unpredictable environments. Training takes place in simulation labs, through clinical practice and in traditional classroom settings.
The Aiken Technical College EMS-Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP)].
